Job Summary
The incumbent will lead commercial API manufacturing operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant production in accordance with cGMP and global regulatory standards. The role involves overseeing end-to-end manufacturing activities including chemical synthesis, reaction, filtration, centrifugation, drying, milling, and packaging while achieving production, quality, and productivity targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day API manufacturing operations and ensure timely production.
- Ensure compliance with approved BMRs, SOPs, cGMP, and EHS requirements.
- Monitor production performance, product quality, yield, and operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and drive process improvements.
- Support process validation, technology transfer, and equipment qualification activities.
- Lead deviation investigations, CAPA, change controls, and audit readiness.
- Coordinate with QA, QC, Engineering, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams.
- Mentor and develop production personnel while promoting a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Pharmacy, Industrial Chemistry, or related field.
- 10–15+ years of experience in commercial API manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of API production processes, cGMP, validation, documentation, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven leadership experience in managing production teams within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
